Overview
The STP error alert triggers when a Spanning Tree Protocol issue is detected, such as a topology change or BPDU guard violation. STP errors can indicate network loops or misconfigurations.Prerequisites
- Dashboard access with Admin or Network Admin permissions
- Alert receivers configured

Configuration fields

| Company wide | Yes | Apply to all networks or select specific networks |
| Excluded networks | No | Networks to exclude when Company wide is enabled |

What to do when you receive this alert
- Log into the Dashboard and navigate to Hardware > Switches
- Review the switch and port identified in the alert
- Check for network loops caused by devices like unmanaged switches or hubs
- Verify cabling to ensure no accidental loop connections
- Contact Meter Support if you need assistance resolving the issue
