Overview
The WAN flap alert triggers when a WAN connection experiences repeated up/down state changes in a short period. This instability may indicate ISP issues, cabling problems, or equipment failures.Prerequisites
- Dashboard access with Admin or Network Admin permissions
- Alert receivers configured
Configuring the alert

Configuration fields
| Field | Required | Description |

| Enabled | Yes | Toggle to activate or deactivate the alert (default: on) |
| Label | No | Custom name for this alert instance |
| Description | No | Additional notes about this alert |
| Alert type | Yes | Select “WAN Flap” |
| Threshold | Yes | Number of WAN flaps that triggers the alert (default: 3) |
| Receiver | Yes | Select from configured receivers |
| Company wide | Yes | Apply to all networks or select specific networks |
| Excluded networks | No | Networks to exclude when Company wide is enabled |

What to do when you receive this alert
- Check the physical connection between the Meter Firewall and ISP equipment
- Verify cabling is securely connected at both ends
- Check ISP equipment for power or status issues
- Contact Meter Support if WAN flapping continues
